‘We have completed our plans for the NC State 2010 Homecoming Festivities and they are as follows:
Red OX Open
Chip Webb will be hosting the 2011 Red OX open at Bentwinds Country Club on Friday, November 18th starting at 8:30 AM. Tee times begin at 9AM. It is $60/PP and includes golf, cart, lunch, beverages, prizes and range balls. If you are interested in playing please contact Chip Webb directly at (H) 919-552-5479 | (W) 919-546-7706 | (C) 919-906-0189 . He can also be reached via email at Chip.webb@pgnmail.com
If you are arriving in Raleigh early on Friday afternoon, the NC State Homecoming Parade will end at the new traffic circle on Hillsborough Street just past Maiden Lane. The Pack Howl Parade begins at the corner of Hillsborough Street and Dan Allen Drive 6-7 p.m.
Friday Evening festivities will take place starting at 8 pm at Natty Greene’s downtown. We have reserved The Loft, a private room upstairs, for all Alumni and Active brothers and their guests to meet and mingle. The setup will be heavy Hors d’oeuvres and a Cash Bar. We are asking everyone to contribute $10/person towards the cost of the room and Hors d’oeuvres.
Around 10:30-11pm we will be moving the party over to the Chapter House on 20 Maiden Lane. The undergrads are hoping that we might get a visit from John McCarter to lead a rendition of the “Wild West Show” this year. They’ve heard the stories and want to see the live version.
Saturday is game day and the actives will be holding a tailgate in the Fairgrounds lot. If you don’t have tickets there may be tickets available through the Alumni Association tailgate or at the NC State Ticket Office at (919)-865-1510.
Sunday at 12pm the Annual Alumni Brothers meeting will be held at the Chapter House and we are in need of some Alumni Brothers to step up and bring their talents to work in helping make Theta Chi the strongest Greek men’s organization on campus. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the direction of the Active Chapter and the Alumni Board and hopefully will feel motivated to help the Active Chapter carry their positive momentum in to 2011 and beyond. We will be holding elections for President and Vice-President at this meeting. Also, we will be discussing renovation plans for the Fraternity House and will have a presentation from a representative with the developer that NC State is partnering with to build the hotel across from the Bell Tower.
We hope to see you at these events.
Fraternally,
Ken Updegrave, Alumni Board President
