Announcing the Delta Rho 1952 Club Why 1952? It is the year Delta Rho was chartered at NCSU What is it? It is a take-off on what National calls the Alumni Association 1856 Program which National promotes as a good way to engage with Alumni to help provide needed funding for the operational aspect of an Alumni Chapter or Corporation. It is a monthly financial commitment to the Delta Rho Alumni Corporation of $19.52 per month (or an annual 1 time contribution of $230). What is the purpose? It will help to build an endowment fund to be used to fund both the annual operating budget of the Alumni Corporation and build cash reserves for needed property maintenance. Who administers the program and what is it used for? It is managed by the Alumni Board of Directors who will be allocating the funds on a % basis across 3 main budget categories to pay for such things as listed under each category- Alumni relations and communications a. Homecoming activities b. Regular newsletters and data base maintenance c. Recognition Undergraduate academic support a. Scholarships b. National convention attendance c. Delta Rho promotional activities Operational funding for the Alumni Corporation a. Insurance coverage b. Routine House maintenance expenses c. Rainy day fund and operational reserves Start date- At last years’ 2010 Homecoming How does it work? The Alumni Corporation is working with EFT Corp to perform automatic monthly drafts. Similar to a PayPal account that is doing auto draft. Or payment may be made in full on an annual basis and sent directly to the Treasurer of the Alumni Corporation. Who audits it? The Alumni Board meets monthly and as a part of the Treasurer’s update report, the status of the 1952 Club will be monitored. Also, at the annual business meeting a budget and endowment review will be shared with the Brotherhood. What is in it for the Alumni? First: For the first 50 Brothers who sing up - A glass paperweight with our fraternity crest and custom etched “Delta Rho 1952 Club” will be given to them. This handsomely designed and professionally crafted piece is sure to be something all Brothers will want to display on their desk. See Paperweight example. Second: Every participant will have their name w/graduation yr. added to a “master: 1952 Club plaque that will be prominently displayed in the Delta Rho House. Names will be added to the plaque in recognition of a Brothers’ annual participation in the program. Third: Increased visibility of and participation by the Alumni is critically needed to help further the ideals and values of Theta Chi at NC State. In short you are helping to insure the long term viability of the Delta Rho Chapter and its active Brotherhood.
